dLocal Secures Enhanced Payment Service Provider Licence From Bank of Ghana
dLocal has received an Enhanced Payment Service Provider licence from the Bank of Ghana, formally expanding its authorisation to operate mobile-money and merchant payment infrastructure in the country. The licence opens cross-border payment rails for Ghanaian merchants and fintechs seeking to connect to dLocal's global network.
dLocal Ghana: what 'direct' actually means for local builders
Before this licence, dLocal had to route every Ghanaian transaction through a local partner. That middleman added cost, slowed settlement and gave Ghanaian merchants one more hand in their pocket.
With the Enhanced PSP licence, dLocal connects straight to MTN MoMo, Vodafone Cash and local bank accounts — collecting, paying out and processing remittances without a go-between.
For the Ghanaian merchants and fintechs plugging into dLocal's global network, that's a real change: faster money, fewer fees eaten in transit. In a market that moved GH¢9.45 trillion in digital transactions last year, shaving friction out of the plumbing matters.
