PUWU Challenges IMF and World Bank on IPP Pricing, ECG Revenue and Energy Self-Sufficiency
The Public Utilities Workers Union has called on the IMF and World Bank to focus reforms on independent power producer pricing rather than ECG alone, while also citing improving ECG revenue data as evidence that external prescriptions may be misaligned. PUWU has further argued that Ghana possesses the institutional capacity to fix its energy sector without IMF or World Bank intervention, framing domestic policy ownership as the preferred reform path.
