Ghanaian Fintech Seevcash Raises $333k From Stellar Community Fund for Diaspora Remittances
Ghanaian fintech startup Seevcash has raised $333,000 from the Stellar Community Fund to support its diaspora remittance operations. The funding represents a direct capital injection into a Ghana-headquartered operator active in the inbound remittance corridor, where Ghana received $3.65 billion in the first half of 2026.
Seevcash: four small grants that add up to a real question
Four separate awards from the Stellar Community Fund, totalling $333,000, built Seevcash into a working remittance platform with a MoneyGram partnership and now a Visa card spendable in 250 countries.
That's a genuinely scrappy origin story — and it lands against a corridor that moved $3.65 billion into Ghana in the first half of this year alone.
But $333k against a $3.65 billion market is a rounding error. The question isn't whether Seevcash can build — clearly it can. It's whether grant-sized capital is all a Ghana-headquartered remittance company can attract to compete in a corridor this large, against the Western Unions and the well-funded challengers that don't need four rounds of community grants to stay alive.
